In 2017, we worked with FitMetabolism (the parent company of Fitmethod) to define the user experience, prototype, and develop a proof of concept for their mobile app. Fitmethod is a patented weight loss system similar to Noom, where users rely on frequent check-ins with assigned "coaches." Fitmethod differentiates itself by focusing on macronutrients versus calories, which breaks the mental association of "good" versus "bad" foods.
This project was immensely satisfying as it drew on our strengths in rapid prototyping coupled with customer journey mapping and UI design.
Unlike other weight loss apps, Fitmethod aims to simplify the often complicated process of finding and logging food.In three simple interactions, food can be entered into the user's food diary. User behavior is rewarded with achievements and educational content around nutrition.
The "My day" dashboard provides users with an overview of their current food diary with macronutrient and exercise visualizations.
